I have always loved being creative and creating things. Getting thoughts and feelings out on paper and canvas has always felt liberating. And when I manage to visualize my imagination, it gives me great joy. When I paint, all the "noise" disappears and I forget time and place. Growing up, I often drew at school to better concentrate on the lessons, it gave me peace. Which made sense when I later realized that I have ADHD.
I grew up on Nøtterøy, where my dad had a large studio. I loved being there and looking at his art and learned to paint early on.
I took basic courses in drawing, shape and color, then continued at folk high school, where the focus was dance and crafts. There I painted the picture (below) called "Why", only 17 years old. The dream of making a living from art was always there.
I started an interior design shop that quickly grew and became a gazelle. There I really got to unleash my creative side. I sold my paintings as prints in the shop. Later I expanded by building a cafe with homemade food, where the menu was created at home on the kitchen counter. But the dream of going completely into the world of art was always there, there has always been a kind of longing inside me. So at the beginning of 2024 I decided to live out this dream full-time.
I hope you find joy in my paintings and that they can awaken feelings and thoughts. For some of the pictures I have written poems that describe a bit of my thoughts behind them. But I also hope you find your own interpretation in my art, a picture that can mean something to you.
